Smoking And Pregnancy

It's never too late to stop. Every cigarette you decide not to smoke will help your baby's health and your own.

If you're expecting, don't let cigarettes affect your unborn baby. Smoking increases the risk of miscarriage and can cause stillbirth and low birth weight.

Secondhand smoke is known to cause sudden death syndrome ("cot death") and respiratory diseases in young children.

We offer friendly, specialised support to pregnant women on a discreet, one-to-one basis. The under-21s have their own advisor, based at the Young People's Project on Oaklands Park Avenue.

To find out more about the specialised help available for pregnant smokers, call Monazza Malik on 020 8926 5227.
